Music is therapeutic. Listening or playing music often calm people’s spirits in trouble times. In the Holy Bible, young David was employed into the king Saul’s palace to play his musical instrument for king Saul to deal with the king’s mental health problems. Music therapy for mental health has been utilized as a therapeutic aid for many years.
“The Fact of Life: ROSES and THORNS, ” is the theme of my work; Roses are for happy times and thorns are for trouble times. In this painting “The Rose, the Thorns and the Violin” in which the Rose image clings to the violin, it depicts that music is good for happy times and well as the trouble’s times.
O Yemi Tubi was a winner of the Award of Distinction in the Southern Tier Artists 2024 Noteworthy: Music in Art Exhibition. He won the Fletcher H Dyer Award at the 11th Anniversary FL3TCH3R 2023 Exhibition. He was awarded 2nd place in the 2023 Brouhahaart ‘Climate Change’ “Right Here, Right Now” exhibition.” O. Yemi won the First-Place award with his painting "The Chickens’ Fight" in the WAR or PEACE 2022 International Competition by Art Impact International.
