For me, sunflowers are a symbol of peace.
When I arrived from Ukraine to England, my friends gave me a bouquet of sunflowers, which many people associate with Ukraine. I think this is because yellow is one of the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
I would like these flowers to never wither, that is why I decided to capture them on canvas. Thus, this picture was painted from life. An artist from Ukraine, currently living in the UK.
She began her artistic career in 2010 by studying various painting techniques.
A new round of creativity came with the beginning of the war in Ukraine and forced emigration to England in 2022.
Here art became for her an opportunity to reach a new level of dialogue with the audience, to talk in the language of art about the fragility of this world and the need to preserve everything beautiful that has been given to us by nature and God. Lincoln, UK
