Living Artists Contemporary Art Auction
Lot 115:
Evocation was created with watercolours, inks, acrylics, oils, pastels, and fine threads on unframed lightweight birchwood panel 2cm deep that is ready to hang as no frame is needed. The work brings together my scientific interest in the natural environment and my Christian spirituality to bridge the gap between them two through materiality, colour, and organic shapes. Linking micro and macro world, through seeds and its symbolism, the work evokes nature’s seasonal changes and processes of rebirth and growth. The explorative use of the wooden ground and elements of grain reappear throughout the painting to reinforce the link to natural materials. The paint is allowed to evoke the ecological forms and to create the subtle link between the physical and spiritual reality. Creating a form of prayerful quality, the peculiar quality that is tenuous yet powerful. Polish-born, Manchester (UK)-based artist–Master of Contemporary Fine Art (University of Salford, UK 2023) My work aims to bring new dimension into painting by combining spiritual and scientific ways of perceiving the world. The perception of everything being interconnected is the concept that underpins my work. By exploring what is visible and physical, I wants to reach what is spiritual, transcendent, and inherent to all to communicate the wonder of unity.
