BIRMINGHAM, UK 55×60.5×2.5cm This painting evokes the essence of one of my favorite places, Rome. The warm hues of the house walls, small hotels, and restaurants accentuate the vibrant windows and balconies, and create a colourful visual contrast. The artwork also captures the ambiance of the weather, with windows thrown open and washing hanging out, embodying the absolute serenity and relaxed atmosphere experienced while strolling among the ancient ruins and historic pavilions. It’s a pure joy to immerse oneself in such timeless beauty. This series of paintings explores the everyday urban visuals and adventures encountered in our work and life journeys, imagining how these scenes might one day become myths, legends, or subjects of archaeological study. What would our present look like to people three thousand years from now? Each painting in this series captures a fleeting moment in time, presented through an abstract language of colour and form. These works pre-conceive our legacy, offering snapshots of contemporary life that may one day be viewed as historical artefacts.I am a UK-based artist specialising in abstract and semi-abstract work. My art explores themes of everyday culture, landscape and mythology. I enjoy experimenting with various materials, mediums, and sizes. Painting is one of my favourite forms of expression. When I paint I am looking for something in particular within the painting to emerge, but I am not totally sure what it is. Some paintings reach their goal quickly as the anomaly becomes apparent but some paintings can take months until what I am looking for appears. I use layering techniques and the paintings narrative can change and evolve as it progresses. My work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions across the UK and internationally. In addition to creating art, I collaborate with galleries and educational institutions for talks, curatorial activities, and artist development programs, including teaching.Currently, I am based in Birmingham, UK.
