SHIPS FROM Berlin, Germany, Europe Purple Shades is a serene winter painting capturing a moment when time appears to stand still. The artwork depicts a mountain range in the Alpenglow, a magical light that emerges after sunset causing the rugged mountain peaks to shine in pink hues. The alpenglow is particularly vibrant when the mountain slopes are covered in snow and have been previously illuminated by the sun. The snow has the unique ability to reflect and intensify this afterglow. Impressive mountain formations stretch out before the viewer’s eyes, sculpted by glaciers. The interplay of light and dark tones across the highs and lows of the mountains creates a harmonious expanse against the endless sky. This incredible natural spectacle offers a fresh perspective on nature and showcases the mysterious colors of the mountains.
