Living Artists Contemporary Original Art auction
Lot 203:
SHIPS FROM Wales, UK I took this photo in my local shops near where I live. Whenever I go out in a public place I feel like the person next to me understands what?s going on around him/her when in public. That?s the fully shaped person on the left. On the right to the shape on the left the person which is me is trying to mask (fit) in but everything going on around him he feels lost and he feels out of place and not actually there. The world is full of colour and information, visually it can be overwhelming – even more so if you?re neurodiverse. Bug is a photographer who is autistic and uses the medium of photography to mediate this visual overload and slow the world down through the images. In the work, Bug can control the light and the contrast to create meditative abstract pieces, which allows Bug to take the fast paced noise of the outside world and communicate his vision back to us at a slower more refined pace that?s more manageable for both the artist and the viewer. – Tabish KhanBug is from the village of Llantrisant in South Wales, UK and has had artwork exhibited internationally, long-listed for the Visual Arts Association annual prize in 2023 and was awarded funding for the development of the Standing Still collection, by the Arts Council Of Wales.
