Living Artists Contemporary Original Art auction
Lot 214:
SHIPS FROM Southend-on-sea UK I noticed images of cats and dogs were appearing, so continued with the work. I love painting with expression, this painting was achieved over 2 years. I do consider it a fast painted work, which seems contradictive. That’s what I like to create, the feeling of instant yet with longevity. I have now continued with working on this painting, to success. From 1978-1992 I worked as a Comic Artist for the Beano, Dandy, Topper, Beezer, Whizzer and Chips, Buster, Scooby Doo and his TV Friends. My painting leans to urban expressionism and is influenced by colour, form and the positivity of the comics I worked on. Group exhibition at the Walker Gallery Liverpool, group exhibition officially submitted and rejected by the Tate Modern on record. Written about in numerous art books such as The Culthouse It?s Art Call 2019, Jason Haynes Artists at Work, Regards Sixexpos Sixlieux Saint Quentin en Yvelines, and Louis Doucet? Subjectiles IV.
