A mark in Nigerian Igbo history where a king refused to go on with his Christian Baptistism because of the conditions he was given.King Idigo was a king in the 19th century before the colonialism.It was a time where Christian missionaries evangelized. The king heard of this, out of curiosity he invited them to his palace. He gave them a large portion of land to build a mission house and even decided to convert to Christianity!The elders and chiefs were not pleased, they tried to convince the king otherwise but he paid deaf ears!On the day of his baptism he was told to :*Donate a portion of his wealth * forfeit some of his traditional titles * Divorce all but one of his four wives.King Idigo refused these conditions!It is not certainly known if he decided to accept Christianity after then. ARTIST BIO Shanktel is a mixed media texture artist. She was born on May 30th, 2000 and a Nigerian by birth. She uses texture paste, papier-m?ch? and acrylic paint as her mediums. Shanktel tells stories using symbolism about people, events and cultures she finds intriguing not withstanding how blissful, mythical or horrifying the stories might be. Nigeria
